A prominent Chinese leaker has revealed detailed display specifications for Apple's upcoming foldable iPhone, suggesting the device will feature cutting-edge under-screen camera technology.
According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the foldable iPhone will sport a book-style design with two displays. The main inner screen will measure approximately 7.76 inches with a resolution of 2,713 x 1,920 pixels, while the outer display will be 5.49 inches with 2,088 x 1,422 pixels.
The inner folding display is expected to maintain a 4:3 aspect ratio and feature innovative under-screen camera technology. The outer screen will reportedly use a more conventional punch-hole camera design.
Industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has verified the display dimensions and noted that the inner screen will be "crease-free." Kuo also suggests the device will use a Touch ID side button rather than Face ID to maximize internal space, along with a dual-lens rear camera system.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman anticipates the foldable iPhone will launch next year with a price tag around $2,000. Manufacturing appears to be moving forward, with analyst Jeff Pu reporting that Foxconn has begun the New Product Introduction phase, targeting mass production in late 2026.
The device is expected to incorporate technological advances from the iPhone 17 Air's development, including improvements in display technology, battery life, modem capabilities, and chip performance.
This latest leak adds credibility to previous rumors about Apple's entry into the foldable smartphone market, suggesting the company is preparing to challenge existing players with innovative features and premium build quality.
